It has never been my object to record my dreams, just the determination to realize them.

Man Ray

My head is throbbing with pain as I write this. I cannot see the screen properly.
I am back from Panchgani, and I'm going to upload some photographs once this headache leaves me, which will hopefully be soon.

"I cannot be known
Better than you know me

Your eyes in which we sleep
We together
Have made for my man's gleam
A better fate than for the common nights

Your eyes in which I travel
Have given to signs along the roads
A meaning alien to the earth

In your eyes who reveal to us
Our endless solitude

Are no longer what they thought themselves to be

You cannot be known
Better than I know you. "
- I Cannot Be Known, Paul Eluard

Life is occupied in both perpetuating itself and in surpassing itself; if all it does is maintain itself, then living is only not dying.

"Where is it I've read that someone condemned to death says or think, an hour before his death, that if he had to live on some high rock, on such a narrow ledge that he'd only room to stand, and the ocean, everlasting darkness, everlasting solitude, everlasting tempest around him, if he had to remain standing on a square yard of space all his life, a thousand years, eternity, it were better to live so than to die at once! Only to live, to live and live! Life, whatever it may be!"
-Fyodor Dostoevsky, Crime and Punishment.

Is it better to live this painful existence, teetering on the brink of death, or is it better to submit ourselves to the 'infinite finality' of death?

My life has always been a double-strand of pearls around my neck.

Nat Finklestein

"Speed is the ultimate, all time high. That first rush. Wow! Just that burning, searing, soaring sense of perfection. There's no way to explain it unless you've been through it. There's no way to tell anyone who hasn't tasted it. I'd like to turn the whole world on just for a moment... just for a moment. I'm greedy. I'd like to keep most of it for myself and a few others, a few of my friends. Keep that superlative high just on the cusp of each day so that I radiate sunshine."
- Susan Superstar (Edie Sedgwick), Ciao Manhattan.
